About us
A Norwegian student is strolling the rainy streets of Manhattan wearing grandpa’s old galoshes. That's where it started...
SWIMS is a modern Scandinavian brand that was founded in Oslo, Norway in 2006 and breathed new life into the almost-forgotten galosh.
The SWIMS DNA is built on the idea of redefining and improving. We approach the world with optimism and confidence. Influenced by our Scandinavian heritage we believe that its fully possible to enjoy life while acting and creating responsibly. We strongly believe we should respect each other, all things living and our blue planet.
Our Philosophy
SWIMS frequently uses innovative solutions to create modern, functional and great looking products. It lives in the cross section of style and activity. An area often referred to as “Active”. We look at style and function, not as an exercise in mastering the art of compromise, but as an opportunity to have one enhance the other. At SWIMS we know how to deal with the elements, especially water. SWIMS is a conceptual brand, not a category brand. It has an inherent permission to go to many places as long as it delivers on its values. It can offer single items or collections depending on the needs of consumers. It can redefine the classic´s but is not a nostalgic brand. SWIMS is not bound to seasons or locations. Its fields of play spans the resort, urban environments, the office and many recreational activities on, in or off the water.
Our Mission
Our mission is to design with Scandinavian simplicity and flair for passionate individuals that enjoy life to the fullest whether in the city, on the beach, on the mountains or somewhere in between.
Swims’ versatility provides our products to be dressed up or down, used technically or not
Our Commitment to the Transparency Act
At SWIMS, we believe that transparency and ethical responsibility are fundamental to creating a positive impact in our industry and beyond. Our commitment to the Transparency Act goes beyond compliance; it is rooted in our mission to promote fair, safe, and sustainable practices throughout our supply chain.
As part of this commitment, we work proactively to ensure that all of our products are manufactured under conditions that respect human rights and uphold high labor and environmental standards. To achieve this, we continuously map our supply chain to gain full insight into the origins of our materials and the working conditions at each stage. Our dedicated teams conduct regular risk assessments to identify, mitigate, and prevent potential negative impacts on human rights and fair working conditions. These efforts help us address risks and encourage best practices across all operations and partnerships.
We collaborate closely with our suppliers, building strong relationships founded on shared values and international standards. By working with trusted third-party auditors and experts, we ensure that rigorous environmental and labor practices are upheld, enabling us to maintain the highest ethical standards in line with global expectations.

Transparency Act Compliance Report
SWIMS AS
Date: 23.06.2025
Introduction
The Norwegian Transparency Act, which came into force on July 1, 2022, mandates that companies respect human rights and decent working conditions throughout their supply chain. As a retailer in the apparel and footwear industry, SWIMS AS recognizes our responsibility to ensure fair and safe working conditions, as well as to minimize environmental impact.
This report aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how we comply with the Transparency Act requirements and the specific actions we take to promote responsible production.Organization and Responsibility for Compliance with the Transparency Act
To ensure our compliance with the Transparency Act, we have organized our approach for effective implementation and follow-up. At SWIMS, the Operations department is responsible for leading the compliance work. We have established an internal working group that regularly monitors our adherence to the Act and assesses areas for improvement.
The working group is responsible for:
• Mapping the supply chain and identifying potential risk areas.
• Developing and implementing measures to ensure the protection of human rights and decent working conditions.
• Reporting internally to management and externally to customers and stakeholders.
We also work with external consultants and organizations with expertise in human rights and ethical trade to strengthen our evaluation and control routines.Supply Chain Mapping
To ensure complete visibility of our supply chain, we conduct an extensive mapping process, which includes:
• Supplier Identification: We have completed a comprehensive mapping of all suppliers involved in our apparel and footwear production.
• Data Collection: We gather information on working conditions at our factories through surveys, supplier visits, and third-party audits.
• Risk Assessment: Based on the data collected, we assess the risk associated with each supplier, covering both human rights and working conditions.Risk Assessment
Our risk assessment process is crucial in identifying and managing potential challenges in the supply chain. Our process includes:
• Country Risk Evaluation: We assess country-specific risks for human rights violations using data from reputable sources such as OECD and ILO.
• Supplier-Specific Assessments: We map risks specific to each supplier, focusing on working conditions and potential human rights concerns.
• Prioritization of Actions: Areas with the highest risks are prioritized for follow-up actions.Measures and Follow-up Actions
To address identified risks, we have implemented several measures, including:
• Training and Capacity Building: We provide information to our suppliers and their staff on international labor standards and human rights.
• Improvement Plans: Together with suppliers, we create plans to correct any shortcomings identified during inspections and audits.
• Continuous Follow-up: Through regular meetings and follow-ups, we ensure that our suppliers adhere to agreed standards and improvement plans.Transparency Communication and Reporting
We are committed to providing open insight into our efforts to ensure responsible practices in our supply chain. Through our website, we regularly publish updates on our work under the Transparency Act and the steps we have taken to safeguard human rights.Summary and Looking Ahead: Strengthening Due Diligence Beyond Tier-One Suppliers
SWIMS AS is dedicated to continuously improving our practices and being a transparent and responsible actor in our industry. Through our efforts to comply with the Transparency Act, we have made significant progress but recognize that there is still room for further development.
Throughout 2025, we have continued our work to assess and address risks related to human rights and decent working conditions within our direct supply chain. As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, we aim to expand our due diligence efforts in 2026 to include deeper tiers of our supply chain. This will allow us to gain better visibility into potential risks further upstream and strengthen our ability to ensure ethical and sustainable practices throughout our sourcing network.
• Expanding the mapping to cover additional levels of the supply chain
• Strengthening our risk assessments by increasing collaboration with independent organizations
